10 Nigerian Celebrities Who Have Actively Participated In Nathaniel Bassey’s #Hallelujah Challenge

Award-winning gospel artiste, Nathaniel Bassey has been driving a revival on and off social media hashtagged #Halleluyah Challenge. It started on June 1 and had an Instagram attendance of about 50,000 people on Sunday, June 11.

The Hallelujah Challenge is a 30 day praise/prayer time from 12.00 am to 1.00 am everyday in the month of June and runs on Instagram. It is often employed to praise God and pray for Nigeria.

Nigerian celebrities are also not left out as a number of them have joined the Challenge.

1. Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy, is a Nigerian record producer, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He co-founded the now defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records in 2004.

Following the closure of the aforementioned record label, Don Jazzy set up Mavin Records on May 8, 2012

2 Mercy Aigbe

She is a Nigerian actress, director and businesswoman. The mother of two is best known for her Yoruba language movies.

She is a Nigerian singer whose vocal range covers three octaves. She participated in the remake of P-Square’s “Omoge Mi” and featured as the female voice in the duo’s 2008 hit track “Do Me”. She was also featured on Banky W’s “Thief My Kele” and M.I’s “One Naira”.

4. Toke Makinwa

Makinwa is a Nigerian radio personality, television host, vlogger, and bestselling author. She is known for co-hosting The Morning Drive on Rhythm 93.7 FM and her YouTube vlog series Toke Moments.

5. Ubi Franklin


Ubi Franklin whose real name is Ubi Ekapong Ofem was born on February 2, 1986. The artiste manager and entrepreneur is the founder of Triple MG. He has a son with Lilian Esoro.

6. Uche Jombo

Uche Jombo Rodriguez is a Nigerian actress, screenwriter and film producer. She is married to Matthew Rodriguez and they have a son together.

7. Funke Akindele

She came to limelight after featuring in popular United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) sponsored sitcom; I Need to Know, which ran from 1998 to 2002.

In 2009 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.Funke Akindele also plays the lead character in the hit TV show Jenifa’s Diary, alongside Fisayo Ajisola, Falz, Lolo and more. The show is a spin-off from the movie titled Jenifa.

D’banj, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, musician, entrepreneur and TV host. He has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards.

He is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was formerly in the Hip Hop duo group called Kc Presh . He currently has a record deal with Five Star Music. He worked with Del B, a record producer known for producing “Limpopo (Kcee song).
